Research Interests

Rheology, light scattering, superhydrophobicity, self-propulsion and others.  I am interested in solving variety of problems using simple ideas (overview). I am deeply passionate about education and in particular about teaching and learning based on projects.

PhD in Chemical Engineering, (October 2006 to June 2011), Suspensions and gels composed of non-spherical nanoparticles: Rheology and scattering, Applied rheology and polymer processing group, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium. Supervisors: Prof. Jan Vermant (KU Leuven, Belgium) and Prof. Jan Dhont (Institute of Complex Systems, Soft Condensed Matter (ICS-3), Juelich, Germany).

Professional experience

Post Doctorate: Self-Propulsion, fiberspinning, nanofiber composites, superhydrophobic materials and solution based processing of photovoltaic modules  (July 2011 - present), under Prof. Christian Clasen, Chemical engineering department, KU. Leuven, Belgium.

Teaching Assistant: Chemical reaction engineering, KU Leuven, Belgium (2008-2010).

Research Assistant: Liquid hold-up studies in 2D packed beds (2003 - 2004), under Prof. Govind S. Gupta, Metallurgy department, Indian Institute of science (IISc), Bangalore, India.
