Our research aims at designing methodologies for intelligent process or product (formulation) design using so-called "complex fluids" or "soft matter". Both colloidal fluids and polymer melts receive their fair share of atttention.

Our equipment includes traditional (both rotational and capillary) rheometers, and techniques to measure elongational properties. A wide range of techniques to characterize the flow-induced microstructure, including microscopic techniques, light scattering and rheo-optical methods are available, as well as equipment for processing of polymers and dispersions. We also have a range of instruments to measure the interfacial rheology and the dynamics of the structure at an interface.
